Key Responsibilities:

Provide mobile crisis response services and on-call support alongside a Qualified Mental Health Professional Conduct telephone and face-to-face assessments for individuals experiencing behavioral health crises Build supportive, recovery-oriented relationships that promote hope, empowerment, and resilience Assist individuals in identifying strengths, setting recovery goals, and developing strategies to overcome barriers Support clients in developing healthy coping skills for managing mental health and substance use challenges Encourage the use of family, community, and natural support systems to strengthen long-term recovery Deliver person-centered services that align with each individual's goals, preferences, and recovery journey Create a trauma-informed environment that emphasizes safety, respect, and client empowerment Provide crisis support through in-person and telephone contacts across various crisis service programs Attend required meetings, trainings, supervision sessions, and professional development activities Complete documentation accurately and within established deadlines Review, understand, and follow the ACI Four Core Competencies Perform other duties as assigned by Crisis Services Leadership Education, Experience, and/or

Credential Qualifications:

Must be a Certified Missouri Peer Specialist High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required Self-identify as a present or former recipient of mental health or substance use services, or as a person in recovery from a mental health or substance use disorder Knowledge of recovery principles, peer support practices, and person-centered care Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills Ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing behavioral health crises Ability to demonstrate empathy, professionalism, and respect for diverse backgrounds and experiences

Additional Qualifications:

Must be at least 21 years of age Valid driver's license with a favorable driving record Must successfully pass a background check or qualify for an approved exception if applicable Must complete the Missouri Peer Specialist application process through Missouri Peer Specialist Program If required, must attain completion of the five-day basic training program and pass a State of Missouri-approved certification examination within three (3) months Ability to work overnight weekday shifts and respond to mobile crisis situations Commitment to recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and consumer-focused services
