Job Description Volunteer Coordinator Full-time - Paid Hourly- $16.00 Monday-Friday 8 am - 4:30 pm After 90 days: PTO, health insurance, paid holidays, and snow days
Description :
- This position is a diverse, fast-paced role that will work with the Food Pantry, Service Center, Soup Kitchen, Thrift Shop, volunteers, and our community.
Essential Functions:
Recruit and maintain a database of volunteers for all three buildings while working alongside the Manager of the building. Be active in the Community for recruitment of volunteers/events relationships. (churches, businesses, civic groups, etc.)- Co-administer with all Supervisors on our volunteers' programs, CHS, Youth Workforce, Embassy, Community Service, etc.
- Build volunteer relationships that will carry over in event support.
- Create compelling outreach strategies for social media, local events, and partnerships.
- Match Volunteers with roles that align with their interests, skills, and availability.
- Provide Clear orientation and training.
- Engage and Retain volunteers all year long, with the Volunteer Newsletter and phone calls.
- Coordinate volunteer activities like Volunteer Appreciation Dinner, Christmas parties, Volunteer Newsletter, and personal cards or awards for occasions.
- Track and Measure Impact for grant writing, social media, and Board reporting.
- Help increase program capacity through volunteer support.
- Fundraising Team Member.
- Co-Manage and expand Social Media presence.

Qualifications:
- Understand Open Door Service Center's mission.
- Possess the ability to communicate with all individuals, deal with and help in difficult situations, and have a compassionate heart.
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access computer programs.
- Possess good organizational skills and the ability to work within a team environment.
- Self-motivator
Public Speaking Education:
- Minimum of a High School degree or GED.
