Housing Specialist at First Fruit Ministries! Join a Mission That Matters! Are you passionate about helping the vulnerable find a place to call home? First Fruit Ministries is looking for a dedicated Housing Specialist to support individuals and families as they transition from homelessness or trafficking into permanent housing. We are a mission-driven organization in Southeastern North Carolina, sharing God's unconditional love by serving those experiencing homelessness or human trafficking through outreach, housing, and comprehensive care. As a Housing Specialist, you will use trauma-informed and "Housing First" approaches to provide navigation, case management, and landlord engagement. You will walk alongside vulnerable individuals through complex challenges, helping them secure stability and self-sufficiency. Stability:
Help build a "Second Chance" inventory of property owners to expand housing options for our community. Job Summary The Housing Specialist is responsible for supporting program participants as they move toward permanent housing and long-term restoration.
Key focuses include:
Developing individualized housing and stabilization plans. Building a robust network of landlord and community service partners. Providing field-based stabilization services, including home visits.
Key Responsibilities:
Real Estate & Landlord Engagement:
Engage landlords to expand housing options and mediate concerns to ensure lease compliance.
Housing Navigation:
Assist clients with documentation, budgeting, and rental applications while conducting program eligibility screenings.
Case Management:
Coordinate care with internal teams and external partners to ensure continuity of care.
Essential Transit:
Provide targeted client transportation for housing searches, employment, and social service appointments.
Data Integrity:
Maintain accurate records in alignment with grantor monitoring standards and enter timely case notes into agency systems. Ready to make an impact? Apply today and help us build pathways to dignity and stability!
Qualifications Heart:
A strong Christian faith, spiritual maturity, and a commitment to our Holy-Spirit-led mission.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Ministry, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
Experience:
3+ years in outreach, trafficking response, crisis intervention, or homelessness services.
Skills:
Knowledge of trauma-informed care and survivor-centered practices; proficiency in data reporting (HMIS/EmpowerDB preferred); excellent advocacy and communication skills.
Logistics:
Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance (must be able to transport clients).
Flexibility:
Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends based on client needs.
