Community Education Specialist at Lake Erie Ink Want to see change and growth in the community? This is where change happens! This position is for a year of service, beginning September 16, 2026 - August 30, 2027. If you are looking to make a substantial difference in the community you've found your people! AmeriCorps service is a rewarding opportunity for a gap year, recent college graduates, and current college students. Veterans, older adults, and others seeking to make a difference in their community, or a change in career, are also encouraged to apply. You will gain hands on experience working with students, families, and older adults in Cleveland, Ohio. .Positions Available:
Help build the next generation of leaders by serving K-12 Cleveland Metropolitan School District and beyond students during the school day, in afterschool and summer programs at Lake Erie Ink (LEI). LEI focuses on creating an environment where youth feel safe to express themselves. Their programs are designed to ignite imagination, build confidence, and develop critical skills through creative expression. We offer workshops, after-school programs, and summer camps, all led by experienced educators and artists dedicated to nurturing the next generation of storytellers.Benefits and Schedule Living Allowance :
Compensation is provided via direct deposit twice a month. Half Time (900 hours total, +-20 hours per week) = $13,111 or 1/4 Time (450 hours total, +-10 hours per week = $6,614Education Award :
Segal Education Award equivalent to the maximum amount of the Pell Grant upon the successful completion of service hours: Half Time = $3,697.50 1/4 Time = $1,923 The education award may be used towards educational expenses and/or current/past/future student expenses. A number of colleges match or exceed the educational award for current students. This is a great opportunity to gain training and professional development skills. Networking and opportunities to attend regional and national conferences throughout the year. Requirements- Minimum of 18 years of age
