Responsibilities Offer peer-led support and mentorship to individuals experiencing mental health or substance use issues, fostering hope and resilience. Utilize crisis intervention techniques to de-escalate situations and ensure safety for clients and staff. Assist clients in developing personalized recovery plans, including goal setting and resource navigation. Apply motivational interviewing strategies to encourage positive behavioral changes and enhance engagement. Document interactions, progress notes, and service activities accurately within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems. Collaborate with clinical teams to coordinate care, share insights from peer interactions, and support treatment goals. Provide education on behavioral health topics, addiction counseling, and available community resources to promote self-sufficiency. Requirements Lived experience with mental health recovery or substance use recovery, demonstrating resilience and empathy. Strong skills in crisis management and crisis intervention to handle urgent situations effectively. Knowledge of behavioral health principles, mental health counseling techniques, and addiction counseling practices. Experience in mentoring or social work is highly desirable to support client empowerment. Proficiency with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for documentation and reporting purposes. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with diverse populations.
