Job Summary The Volunteer Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing and enhancing our volunteer program. They recruit, train, and schedule volunteers for patient care and office tasks. They also run social media pages, write posts, and share community events for the agency.
Duties Volunteer Management:
Find, interview, and screen new volunteers for the program.
Training and Support:
Teach volunteers about hospice rules, patient privacy, and care.
Tracking and Records:
Keep safe records of volunteer hours, visits, and required health tests.
Social Media Creation:
Make posts, take photos, and share updates on platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn.
Community Outreach:
Talk to local groups to promote volunteer work and agency services.
Event Planning:
Help run memorial services, volunteer thank-you dinners, and health fairs.
Experience Education:
A high school diploma is required. A college degree in social work, marketing, or business is preferred.
Experience:
Past work in volunteer management, healthcare, or social media marketing helps.
Communication:
Must write well and speak clearly with patients, families, and staff.
Compassion:
Needs a kind and patient attitude when dealing with end-of-life care topics.
Computer Skills:
Must know how to use common social media apps and office software.
