Job Description

Youth Engagement Specialist Youth Engagement Specialist Mitchell and Rapid City, SD The Youth Engagement Specialist provides direct care, supervision, and engagement to youth in a residential setting. Promotes safety, structure, and positive development through implementation of trauma-informed and therapeutic programming in daily activities. Ask about our hiring bonus! Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field preferred; equivalent experience and training may be considered. Experience working with youth in a residential or human services setting preferred. Ability to build positive relationships and maintain appropriate boundaries with youth. Knowledge of behavior management, group dynamics, and trauma-informed care. Ability to work collaboratively with staff and respond effectively to changing situations. Responsibilities Provide supervision and always ensure the safety and well-being of residents. Support development of social, emotional, and behavioral skills through daily interactions and structured activities. Maintain a positive, therapeutic environment using trauma-informed and behavior management techniques. Complete accurate and timely documentation, including reports, logs, and incident reporting. Participate in team meetings and collaborate with staff to support treatment planning and program implementation. Respond to crisis situations and follow established safety and intervention protocols. Perform other duties as assigned.
