Job Description
Appalachia CARES AmeriCorps members will serve with nonprofit organizations in East Tennessee to strengthen communities and expand access to critical housing services. By providing education, resources, and home repairs, member service will directly address the larger goal of affordable, appropriate, and safe housing for all citizens. Member service will also support long term housing recovery in areas affected by Hurricane Helene and Living in Place services for seniors and individuals with disabilities. While filling vital gaps in local services, individual members will build job readiness skills, increase community knowledge, and make meaningful connections.
Member Duties :
Housing services - education, resource support, home repair, basic household maintenance, increasing access to community services, serving on a team with other members, working with community organizations and volunteersProgram Benefits :
