Job Description

The Volunteer Coordinator provides leadership, care, and training for LifeChoice volunteers. The responsibilities of this role include contacting, interviewing/vetting, training, placement, and care for all volunteers. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for leading volunteer-focused training, including Abortion Recovery, Abortion Options, and Abortion Phone Training, as well as other regular trainings including, but not limited to, Human Trafficking Awareness, Suicide Prevention, and Volunteer OSHA Training. This position reports to the Executive Director. Work in collaboration with the Outreach Director on volunteer recruitment (in the community and local churches) Contact people interested in becoming volunteers, and guide them through the application, interviews, and training process Establish, schedule, and maintain all required volunteer training (identify strengths of the existing team and opportunities for complementary training and placement of volunteers as needs arise) Establish specific volunteer positions and responsibilities (Lobby Coach, Female Client Advocate, Male Client Advocate, Educators, Boutique Associate, etc.) in accordance with the Center's needs, and identify interested, well-suited volunteers Customize training for each specific area of volunteer service, and impart relevant Center- and ministry-specific information Maintain an open line of communication with volunteers and staff (be available to shepherd, disciple, and minister to the needs of volunteers); communicate reliably and regularly Plan and execute volunteer appreciation and training activities (this may include a volunteer appreciation banquet, relevant quarterly appreciation functions, or other appropriate recognition opportunities) Maintain the volunteer-related portions of the Center's software and technology Produce and distribute the monthly volunteer newsletter and coordinate birthday cards for volunteers each month Train and develop the Trauma Team (Post-Abortion and Abortion Options coaching/support services) on an ongoing basis Train and support the Freedom Team members (volunteers that work with women/men who have experienced abortion) Conduct After-Abortion Care and train/support team members in providing this care Training and support for other volunteer teams as needed (e.g., MLD, hospitality, cleaning, etc.) Identify and provide service opportunities to volunteers as needs arise Provide Holy-Spirit-led, permission-based, Christ-centered spiritual support to patients/clients as needs are identified, and maintain a willingness to address and fulfill additional responsibilities and functions as identified by the Executive Director Meet and maintain the qualifications listed below Required Qualifications Be a committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ Have an associate degree or equivalent work experience in a management position Have basic computer skills and a willingness to learn additional skills as necessary Exhibit a strong commitment and dedication to the sanctity of human life and sexual purity issues Be dependable, stable, and capable of following through on commitments Agree with, sign, and uphold the LifeChoice Statement of Principles, Statement of Faith, and Policies and Procedures documents
