Job Description
The Substance Abuse Counselor is responsible for providing a structured program of skilled treatment services for adults receiving services in our Outpatient Program. Duties and Responsibilities Complete Multidimensional Assessments for participants. Develop Individual Treatment plans in collaboration with team of credentialed addiction treatment professionals. Complete and submit service authorizations, along with tracking and monitoring. Provide individual counseling Provide occupational and recreational therapies, motivational interviewing, enhancement, and engagement strategies to inspire a participant's motivation to change behaviors. Link participants with other community resources such as psychiatric services. Maintain care coordination with outside treatment providers. Establish close working relationships with other professionals. Use therapeutic relationship to build participant's positive skills/behaviors. Skills and Knowledge Knowledge of mental health disorders, their symptoms, treatment and social implications in relation to participant and family. Knowledge of counseling techniques. Knowledge of individual and group behavior and the effective ways of working with people to produce on-going recovery. Strong Computer Skills Must be
