Looking for someone with characteristics such as highly developed interpersonal communication skills, empathy and compassion, ability to take on multiple tasks, and ability to maintain a professional yet supportive relationship with clients. Be self-starter's and have a sense of priority in regard to client care and maintaining proper documentation. The Counselor will work to help guide each client in achieving their treatment and recovery goals, by developing, and monitoring the clients individualized treatment plans. The counselor will build and maintain a good rapport with clients, as they provide support, hope, and much-needed direction to clients while they work to build a healthy life in recovery. Potential Responsibilities Provide Group therapy Sessions (1-3 Groups per week). Provide Individual Counseling and/or Case Management Sessions with clients. Maintain accurate documentation and EMR records regarding client histories and progress. Develop client master treatment plans in coordination with the client, emphasizing on their own goals and objectives for their recovery. Review and evaluate client progress in treatment plans and maintain current records of progress of goals. Assess and evaluate clients' mental and physical conditions, and advocate for client care and services needed. Complete a Biopsychosocial, assessments and intake documentation for Admits as needed. Intervene as needed to help clients to resolve crisis situations when needed. Be familiar with community resources. Have and understanding of 12-Step programs such as AA, NA, Refuge or Celebrate Recovery. Be familiar or have experience treating dual diagnosis clients. Coordinate counseling efforts with mental health professionals and other health professionals at the center for collaborated care for the client. Plan and implement follow-up and aftercare planning for discharging clients. Participate in clinical staffing meetings with clinical director as needed. Act as a liaison between clients and clinical and or medical professionals Familiar with courts, probation officers, community services and other client mandated or court requests.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Well-versed in counseling protocols and techniques, have excellent clinical skills and maintain professionalism in dress, speech and actions. Have good problem-solving skills, work well with others. Have highly developed communication skills both written and verbal. Be able to enforce policies and procedures in a fair manner with clients. Must be able to write legible, concise notes in a timely manner. Must be able to speak clearly and give or follow simple instructions. Ability to recognize the importance of confidentiality and discretion when working with clients and observe HIPPA. Ability to use good judgment and give direction to clients to further their treatment progress or assist in crisis situations. Ability to demonstrate tact, resourcefulness, patience, and dedication. Must have good time management and organizational skills. Provide hope, feedback and direction to clients. Be able to manage taking clients on recreational therapeutic outings or exposure outings. Perform other related duties as needed or agreed on. Adhere to code of conduct. Drug Testing and Breathalyzing of clients and Documentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Have CADCi, CADC-I, CADC- II or a CADC-III or LAADAC or equivalent. 2 years' experience in the substance abuse and mental health field. A bachelor's degree or higher in psychology or related fields is preferred, though not required. Must be able to navigate through basic office setting, Should be familiar with Best Notes, Kipu or other EHR systems for documentation. Must have valid State driver's license, CPR and First Aid Certified with current TB test. About The Alamo Livingood Center and What we are looking for: The Alamo Livingood Center in Costa Mesa is looking for dynamic and experienced Case Managers/ Drug and Alcohol Counselor. Our ideal candidate is someone who loves working with clients who struggle with addiction and mental health issues, who is creative, loving, yet can help clients follow guidelines while on the path to recovery. Someone who is flexible and can handle taking care of clients in various settings such as in the office or having fun with clients on a fun sober outing. We do recognize some individuals may have less hands-on experience, though have a natural talent and a desire to learn, and we do provide a significant amount of knowledge however, we do need someone that has advanced knowledge and hands-on experience working in the behavioral health field for this particular position. We are looking for motivated individuals that are self-starters with follow though to finish their tasks. We are looking for someone who feels this type of work is their life passion, and who take pride in the work they offer others. The Alamo Livingood Center is a boutique sized center with a strong focus on individual and customized client centered care for substance/dual diagnosis clients, and because we are owned by 2 therapists we specialize in primary mental health as well as addiction. The Alamo Livingood Center works to treat the whole person, and we offer many unique therapies and treatment options to help them. Because we are a small treatment facility, we only focus on a small number of clients at one time in order to give our complete attention and care to our clients. Pay is based on experience.
