In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive addiction counseling and mental health support to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. Your expertise will help clients navigate recovery, develop coping strategies, and achieve lasting wellness. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and intake interviews, to determine individual treatment needs. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and applied behavior analysis. Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions focused on addiction recovery, mental health management, and behavioral health education. Provide crisis intervention and crisis management support to clients experiencing acute emotional or psychological distress. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate case management, home & community care services, and hospital-based treatments for seamless patient care. Maintain accurate medical documentation, medical records, and HIPAA-compliant records in accordance with legal and organizational standards. Stay current with research developments in addiction medicine, mental health counseling, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and other relevant clinical practices to ensure high-quality care delivery. Requirements Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field; master's degree preferred. Valid licensure or certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor or equivalent credential required. Proven experience in addiction counseling, clinical counseling, or behavioral health settings; hospital experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of psychiatric diagnosis codes (ICD-9/10), behavioral management techniques, and medical terminology. Familiarity with crisis intervention strategies, patient assessment tools, and data collection methods for research purposes. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage clients effectively across individual and group therapy formats. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and experience managing confidential medical records with integrity. Join our team to empower individuals on their path to recovery!
