reviews $21•$23 an hour•Full-time The Salvation Army Addiction Treatment Services (ATS), a substance use disorder treatment facility in Nuuanu, is seeking a full-time qualified Detox Counselor (30 hours/wk, Overnights, 3 x 10 hours shifts) in the ATS Detoxification Unit. Under the supervision of the Detox Clinical Supervisor, the Detox Counselor is responsible for providing Detox clients with the clinical services necessary to realize a safe detoxification from alcohol and other drugs. Provides screening, admission, discharge, and referral services to Detox clients. Provides individual counseling and conducts alcohol/drug education and skill building sessions designed to motivate the Detox client to seek treatment. Handle crises and client issues for all clients. Minimum of one-year experience providing substance use disorder treatment services, emergency medical services, or CNA. Must demonstrate measurable progress annually toward obtaining either a Certification in Substance Abuse Counseling (CSAC) or a master's degree in behavioral health science. Knowledge of community resources and ability to communicate effectively with outside agencies. Ability to relate comfortably and supportively with intoxicated persons; function as a team member; respond calmly and effectively to stressful situations and crises; and keep accurate records.
