As a Substance Use Counselor, you will provide compassionate, evidence-based counseling services to individuals and groups, helping clients achieve and maintain recovery from substance use disorders. The position values collaboration, professional growth, and a supportive work environment. Responsibilities Provide individual counseling sessions to clients with substance use disorders. Facilitate group sessions focused on relapse prevention and recovery skills. Deliver psychoeducation to clients and groups on substance use and recovery topics. Document all services and client interactions accurately and within required timeframes. Participate actively in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings to coordinate care. Coordinate referrals to additional services and community resources as needed. Utilize evidence-based interventions, including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Stages of Change, and recovery-oriented approaches. Maintain professional boundaries and uphold client confidentiality at all times. Qualifications For Counselor in Training (CIT): Current Louisiana ADRA Counselor in Training registration and eligibility to practice under an approved clinical supervisor; valid driver's license. For Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC): Current Louisiana LAC license in good standing with ADRA.
