Full Job Description Type of Position:
Part-Time W2 20-25hrs.
Per Week Requirements:
TB Test must be completed within the first 30 days.
Program Function:
The Addictions Counselor/ Substance Abuse Counselor will work in a multidisciplinary team environment, providing frontline care to consumers in the PHP, IOP, and OP programs. To assist in the delivery of substance use disorder (SUD) treatment and recovery services under the supervision of a certified or licensed counselor. The trainee supports clients through assessment, counseling, case management, and relapse prevention activities while completing required training and clinical supervision hours toward certification/licensure.
Duties:
Conduct intake interviews and biopsychosocial assessments under supervision. Assist in developing individualized treatment plans , documenting measurable goals and objectives. Facilitate group counseling sessions (education, relapse prevention, coping skills, recovery support). Provide individual counseling sessions under direct supervision; implement evidence-based interventions (e.g., CBT, Motivational Interviewing). Document services in electronic health record (EHR) within required timeframes (DAP notes, treatment updates, discharge summaries). Maintain compliance with confidentiality (HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2) . Participate in weekly clinical supervision and professional development trainings. Conduct urinalysis collections , monitor results, and report findings per program protocol.
Support case management:
coordinate referrals to housing, employment, medical, or mental health resources. Participate in staff meetings and multidisciplinary case conferences. Provide community outreach and recovery education as directed.
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in psychology or behavior-related degree. Must be an ADT TRAINEE or Substance Abuse Counselor licensed by the state of Maryland. Must have experience in substance use disorder treatment.
