LADC - Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor - High and Low Intensity Residential LADC Job description: We are looking for full-time Alcohol and Drug Counselors (LADC) at NorthStar Regional. The counselor plays an important role in the delivery of treatment services to the clients and is responsible for ensuring that all clients receive services mandated by the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS). In addition, counselors provide essential services to support achievement of effective personal development by working with clients individually or in group settings to identify and resolve issues including substance use, mental health, personal and/or emotional problems and family issues. 1) In cooperation with the Program Director, evaluate and modify program design for the purpose of meeting licensure requirements and needs of clients. 2) Provide case management/file documentation for individual caseload, noting all treatment related activities and services in an accurate, professional, and timely manner including assessment of chemical use and mental health problems, creating and monitoring individualized treatment plans, provide group therapy and individual counseling services to individuals with co-occurring chemical abuse and mental health problems. 3) Facilitate/participate groups regarding the disease of addiction and the recovery process consistent with maintaining good mental health. 4) Provide culturally sensitive and relevant services to diverse clients and their families. 5) Responsible for complying with federal and state confidentiality statutes, upholding ethical standards established and implied by the profession, and the DHS rules, and be limited in authority to that set by the Program Director. This is an in-person position and requires all shifts scheduled to be worked.
