Job Description
Overview Seanar Achievement Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Substance Abuse Counselor to lead the delivery of on-site behavioral health services. This role focuses on providing individual therapy, implementing evidence-based behavioral interventions, and ensuring the highest quality of care for individuals served by our Community Support Team (CST). The Community Substance Abuse Counselor will assess clinical needs, designate team staff for specialized interventions, and oversee the effectiveness of services and activities. Additionally, the position includes facilitating weekly team meetings, supervising CST members, and managing caseloads based on the acuity and needs of individuals. Through this role, the counselor will play a pivotal part in helping individuals achieve their recovery goals in a supportive and collaborative environment. Duties Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify substance use issues and develop personalized treatment plans. Provide individual and group counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards. Collect and analyze data related to patient progress and treatment outcomes. Collaborate with healthcare providers in a hospital setting to ensure integrated care for patients. Educate patients and their families about addiction, recovery processes, and available resources. Monitor patient behavior and progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary. Support patients in navigating community resources for ongoing care post-treatment. Qualifications Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field. Licensure or certification in substance abuse counseling (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LCAS, CADC ) is strongly preferred. Proven experience in substance abuse counseling and clinical supervision. Strong understanding of behavioral health interventions and evidence-based practices. Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Additional Requirements Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to ethical and professional standards in counseling and team leadership. Flexibility to adapt to the needs of the team and individuals served. This is an on-site position.
