Certified Drug Alcohol Counselor/Qualified Professional

Job description This position requires a willingness to learn, a genuine desire to help others, and a natural understanding of the effects of addiction on an individual. CADCs work directly with clients to provide counseling and help them develop healthy coping mechanisms.

Responsibilities:

Help individuals and families with an addiction to alcohol, drugs, or other substances. Provide individual, group, and/or family counseling to patients. Facilitate and lead SAIOP (Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program) group sessions in accordance with program guidelines. Refer patients to appropriate community organizations and outside programs. Explain addiction and its effects on the family. Identify issues and create individualized goals and treatment plans. Counsel patients on social issues including housing, employment, education, family issues, and basic living skills. Counsel individuals or families affected by substance abuse. Maintain appropriate clinical documentation and treatment records as required.
