The Substance Abuse Counselor will provide substance use disorder assessment, counseling, support, and care coordination to individuals receiving Community Support Team (CST) services. The ideal candidate will be committed to helping individuals achieve recovery, stability, and improved quality of life. Key Responsibilities Provide individual and/or group substance abuse counseling and supportive services. Complete substance use assessments and identify treatment needs. Develop and implement individualized treatment goals and interventions. Provide ongoing support to individuals experiencing substance use challenges. Assist clients with developing coping skills, relapse-prevention strategies, and recovery plans. Coordinate care with the CST team, healthcare providers, community agencies, and other professionals. Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements. Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and treatment planning. Advocate for clients and connect them with appropriate community and recovery resources. Maintain professional, ethical, and confidential relationships with clients. Follow all applicable state, agency, and clinical guidelines.
Qualifications Required:
Current LCAS(Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate) or CDAC (Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor) credential. Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary behavioral health team. Ability to maintain accurate and timely documentation. Commitment to providing person-centered and recovery-focused services. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a CST, behavioral health, substance use, or community-based setting . Knowledge of substance use treatment, recovery principles, and community resources. Experience working with individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
