What they do
A Substance Abuse Counselor counsels people struggling with addictions to alcohol, drugs or other substances. Assists clients in dealing with personal and professional problems related to substance abuse. Collaborates with other health care and mental health care professionals to coordinate services for clients, and works with families of substance abusers. May work in a clinic, health care facility or community based program, or work with clients referred through the criminal justice system.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Provide counseling and support to individuals struggling with substance abuse issues
- Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans for clients
- Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions
- Monitor and evaluate client progress throughout the treatment process
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records
- Stay up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in substance abuse treatment
Skills:
- Strong patient service skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care to individuals in need
- Knowledge of behavioral health principles and techniques
- Familiarity with managed care systems and insurance processes
- Proficiency in maintaining medical records and documentation, including knowledge of HIPAA regulations
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, such as an ICU or hospital setting
- Understanding of pediatric substance abuse treatment and the unique challenges it presents
- Knowledge of physiology and how it relates to substance abuse and addiction We are looking for a dedicated Substance Abuse Counselor who is passionate about helping individuals overcome addiction.

$40,000.00- $50,000.
