Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Outpatient Counselor (CADC) to provide clinical services to individuals with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders in an outpatient treatment setting. The counselor will provide individual counseling, group counseling, case management, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and discharge planning in accordance with New Jersey state regulations, DMHAS requirements, and agency policies.

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical documentation skills, professionalism, ethical conduct, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team. Responsibilities Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and intake evaluations Develop individualized treatment plans and treatment plan updates Facilitate psychoeducational, therapeutic, relapse prevention, and process groups Provide individual counseling sessions utilizing evidence-based practices Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with NJ DMHAS, HIPAA, and 42 CFR Part 2 requirements Maintain caseload and ensure compliance with productivity expectations Coordinate care with referral sources, probation/parole, Recovery Court, healthcare providers, and community agencies as appropriate Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical supervision Perform crisis intervention and risk assessments when clinically indicated Develop discharge plans and coordinate aftercare referrals Maintain client confidentiality and ethical standards at all times Participate in mandatory trainings and ongoing professional development Ensure compliance with all applicable NJ state licensing standards and CARF requirements Qualifications CADC required (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related field preferred LCADC, LPC, LCSW, or clinical licensure preferred but not required Experience working with substance use and co-occurring populations preferred Knowledge of ASAM criteria, motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, and trauma-informed care Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team Valid driver's license preferred
Pay:
$45,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
