Albuquerque, NM Job Details Full-time 17 hours ago Qualifications Regulatory compliance HIPAA Care documentation Driver's License Substance abuse Health information regulatory compliance Substance abuse treatment compliance Clinical confidentiality policies Clinical documentation standards Working with individuals with substance use disorders Full Job Description Position Overview The Licensed Substance Abuse Associate (LSAA) delivers high-quality, trauma-informed behavioral health services to individuals experiencing substance use and co-occurring disorders. This role integrates clinical assessment, therapeutic intervention, and care coordination to support recovery outcomes while ensuring full compliance with regulatory and ethical standards. Key Responsibilities Clinical Services Conduct biopsychosocial assessments, ASAM evaluations, and diagnostic screenings Develop and maintain individualized treatment plans aligned with clinical standards Provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based practices such as CBT, Motivational Interviewing, and relapse prevention Deliver crisis intervention and support client stabilization Documentation and Compliance Complete timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation, including progress notes and required reports Ensure adherence to
HIPAA, 42 CFR
Part 2, and state regulatory requirements Maintain compliance with BHSD reporting standards and timelines Care Coordination Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care Coordinate referrals to internal and external providers as appropriate Participate in case reviews, supervision, and treatment team meetings Professional Accountability Maintain active licensure and complete required continuing education Attend mandatory trainings and supervision sessions Contribute to a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-oriented environment Additional Expectations Demonstrate cultural competence and trauma-informed care principles Uphold client rights and ethical standards in all interactions Support organizational quality improvement and compliance initiatives Minimum Qualifications Active Licensed Substance Abuse Associate (LSAA) license in good standing with the New Mexico Counseling and Therapy Practice Board Knowledge of substance use disorders, co-occurring conditions, and recovery models Understanding of confidentiality laws, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 Ability to complete clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory standards Valid New Mexico driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of insurance Preferred Qualifications Minimum of two years of experience working with substance use and co-occurring populations Experience providing individual and group therapy using evidence-based modalities such as CBT, MI, and CRA Bilingual in English and Spanish Experience with ASAM criteria and level-of-care determinations First Aid and CPR certification within 90 days of hire Additional Requirements For individuals with lived experience, a minimum of two years of sustained recovery Ability to work within a structured supervision model and apply feedback effectively
