Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to helping individuals struggling with addiction issues. This role involves providing support, guidance, and therapeutic interventions to clients in various settings, including group therapy and individual counseling sessions. The Substance Abuse Counselor will work collaboratively with clients to develop personalized treatment plans aimed at fostering recovery and improving overall well-being.
MUST POSESS STATE LICENSE SUCH AS
LADAC, LPCC, LMSW, LMHC, or similiar licensure. Duties Conduct assessments to evaluate clients' substance use history status. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on client needs and goals. Provide addiction counseling, utilizing evidence-based practices to support recovery. Facilitate group therapy sessions, encouraging peer support and shared experiences among participants. Offer crisis intervention services to clients in acute distress or emergency situations. Maintain accurate documentation of client progress, treatment plans, and any relevant coding and databases. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients. Engage in ongoing education and training related to substance abuse treatment and care. Skills Strong patient care skills, demonstrating empathy and understanding towards clients. Proficiency in addiction counseling techniques and methodologies. Knowledge of crisis intervention strategies to effectively manage emergencies. Familiarity with coding systems for accurate documentation. Experience in facilitating group therapy sessions that promote healing and recovery. Ability to provide home community care as needed, supporting clients in their natural environments. Understanding of Behavioral Health care principles to address trauma-related issues within the context of substance abuse treatment.
