Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor to support individuals transitioning out of homelessness and into stable housing as they pursue recovery from substance use. This role focuses on providing assessment, guidance, and advocacy to help clients engage in addiction recovery services and maintain long-term wellness. The ideal candidate will have lived or professional experience in addiction recovery, strong interpersonal skills, and a commitment to client-centered care. •CADC licensure is a MUST•
Key Duties:
Conduct addiction assessments for clients stabilizing in housing Provide ongoing evaluation of client progress in recovery Build trusting, collaborative relationships to support recovery engagement Use Motivational Interviewing techniques to encourage positive change Advocate for clients during treatment planning and care coordination Educate clients on life skills and health practices that support recovery Assist clients in accessing community-based recovery and support services Collaborate with care teams to identify supports needed for employment and community integration Identify high-risk situations and help clients follow program protocols Manage client appointments and documentation in a timely, organized manner Provide transportation to counseling, medical, and recovery-related appointments Teach recovery-supportive skills and promote long-term wellness Research and recommend new activities to enhance recovery programming Engage with clients utilizing the harm reduction model in group, individual and community counseling settings.
Qualifications:
One year of experience in human services, including direct support for individuals in addiction recovery One year of training or education related to addiction recovery (or equivalent combination) Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (or equivalent certification) Valid driver's license required at time of appointment CPR/First Aid/AED certification (must be obtained within six months of hire) Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness and/or in vocational programs Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment Marathon Staffing is an Equal Opportunity Employer and participates in E-Verify.
