Full Job Description Overview The CASAC-T (Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor - Trainee) plays a vital role in providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. This position is designed for those who are passionate about helping others and are committed to fostering a safe and supportive environment for recovery. The CASAC-T will work under the supervision of licensed professionals, gaining valuable experience while contributing to the well-being of clients. Duties Conduct initial assessments to determine clients' needs and develop individualized treatment plans. Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices. Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, treatment progress, and outcomes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care. Educate clients about substance use disorders, recovery strategies, and available resources. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities. Skills Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with clients from diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of art therapy techniques to enhance therapeutic interventions. Understanding of gender issues counseling to address the unique challenges faced by different populations. Familiarity with psychopharmacology principles to support clients in understanding medication management related to their treatment. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. Compassionate approach with a strong commitment to client confidentiality and ethical standards.
