What they do
A Substance Abuse Counselor counsels people struggling with addictions to alcohol, drugs or other substances. Assists clients in dealing with personal and professional problems related to substance abuse. Collaborates with other health care and mental health care professionals to coordinate services for clients, and works with families of substance abusers. May work in a clinic, health care facility or community based program, or work with clients referred through the criminal justice system.

•6pm (No Weekends/Holidays as needed) Minimum years of experience: 3 years Pay rate: $29/hr
Position Requirements:
OH State Required. Bilingual (Spanish/English Only) Required. Combination of experience and education represented by a Bachelor's Degree with 3 years relevant chemical dependency counseling work experience. Required. LCDC II or be licensure eligible. Required. Must have knowledge and experience working with adolescents and alcohol/drug assessment and case management if clients are youth returning from state institution or in juvenile justice system. Required . Must be able to form good working and therapeutic relationships. Must be organized, detail oriented and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Must possess group work skills. Must have competent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Good working knowledge of computers with familiarity of Microsoft Office software.
