In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive addiction counseling and mental health support to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. Your expertise will guide clients through recovery, utilizing evidence-based therapies and personalized treatment plans. Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluations and intake interviews, to determine individual treatment needs. Develop and implement tailored treatment plans utilizing behavioral therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and other evidence-based approaches. Provide individual, group, and family counseling sessions focused on addiction recovery, mental health management, and behavioral health improvement. Manage crisis situations with effective crisis intervention strategies and crisis management techniques to ensure patient safety. Maintain accurate medical documentation, records, and notes in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans, case management efforts, and community-based support services such as home visits or community care programs. Stay current with research developments in addiction medicine, behavioral health, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding, and other relevant clinical practices to enhance service quality. Skills Proven experience in addiction counseling, clinical counseling, or mental health therapy within hospital or community settings. Strong knowledge of psychotherapy modalities including behavioral therapy, applied behavior analysis (ABA), and social work principles. Expertise in motivational interviewing techniques to foster client engagement and motivation for change. Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations using ICD coding systems (ICD-9/10) for accurate patient classification. Excellent skills in crisis intervention, crisis management, and behavior management strategies. Familiarity with medical records management, medical documentation standards, HIPAA compliance, and medical terminology. Competence in conducting intake assessments, patient care planning, and data collection for ongoing treatment evaluation.
