APPLICANTS MUST RESIDE IN HAWAII POSITION SUMMARY
The Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) provides client-centered assessment, counseling, and case management services for individuals with substance use disorders (SUD). This role supports clients through telehealth by delivering evidence-based interventions, coordinating care, and promoting long-term recovery in alignment with Hawaiʻi state CSAC standards and UHP policies. 100% Remote This is a full-time or part-time position working Monday to Sunday, between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM based on client and program needs. Ideally, the position would work a minimum of 20 hours per week. Salary is for a full-time position.MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education & Credentials Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Behavioral Sciences, or related field. Current Hawaiʻi CSAC, CADC, LADC, SAP, or equivalent certification. Experience Experience in substance use treatment, behavioral health, or related human services. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong understanding of SUD treatment principles, recovery models, and community resources in Hawaiʻi. Ability to conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans. Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR), telehealth platforms, and digital communication tools. Excellent communication, motivational interviewing, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated cultural humility and commitment to equitable, patient-centered care. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team in a remote environment. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage a diverse caseload.
