Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and certified SATOP Instructor and Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. This position offers a flexible schedule and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on clients' lives by facilitating SATOP programming, providing substance abuse counseling, and supporting individuals in meeting their legal and personal recovery goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate SATOP classes and sessions in compliance with state regulations and organizational standards. Conduct assessments, evaluations, and screenings to determine appropriate interventions for clients. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on client needs and goals. Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on substance abuse and recovery. Maintain accurate and confidential client records, including progress notes, assessments, and reports. Communicate effectively with clients, families, and external stakeholders (e.g., courts, probation officers) as necessary. Stay up-to-date with state requirements and industry best practices to ensure compliance and effective service delivery. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
Current certification as a SATOP Instructor (required). Licensed or certified as a Substance Abuse Counselor (e.g., LAC, CADC, LCAC, or equivalent). Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., psychology, social work, counseling) required; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 2 years of experience in substance abuse counseling or related field. Strong understanding of SATOP requirements, state regulations, and recovery processes. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Proficient with technology, including virtual meeting platforms and electronic health records (EHR). Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
