Seeking Substance Abuse Counselor for an opioid treatment program (OTP) in Rock Hill, South Carolina. We are seeking Substance Abuse Counselors that are committed to maintaining these evidence-based approaches that uphold our company values by treating our clients with respect, dignity, and compassion. You will also be able to enhance your counseling skills and work in a culture of acceptance, affirmation, camaraderie, and mutual respect. Research shows that medication assisted treatment can reduce mortality rates due to opioid overdose by 35-60%, reduce health care costs by decreasing number of days in hospitalization by over 57%, and reduce overall opioid use by 50-61%. You will know that you are employed by an organization that is producing measurable life-change. Job Responsibilities As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will be required to:
  • Manage of a caseload of approximately 50 clients
  • Coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team
  • Provide substance abuse counseling
  • Offer psychoeducational opportunities families and friends of clients
  • Develop individual treatment plans
  • Maintain current case notes, documentation, and records
  • Provide crisis interventions, as needed
  • Provide referrals to outside agencies
  • Participate in professional development opportunities
  • Assist in community outreach and community education for MAT
  • Be an advocate for medication assisted treatment Candidates must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in a behavioral science field, although master's degree preferred.
Experience in substance abuse counseling and/or case management preferred. Certified Addictions Counselors (ADC/AADC), Licensed Professional Counselors and Associates (LPC/A), Licensed Social Workers, Licensed Addiction Counselors (LAC), or those who are in the process of obtaining their ADC, AADC, LPC, or LMSW are also preferred. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Candidate must be dependable, punctual, people-oriented, adaptable, organized, and comfortable with a fast-paced environment.
