Must be able to train current employees in the application of integrated treatment for co-occurring disorders. Provide technical assistance and technology transfer to staff through training, consultation, and coaching. Guide staff in the incorporation of an integrated treatment perspective in clinical activities, such as detecting co-occurring disorders, assessment, treatment planning, interventions, and discharge planning.
Job Duties:
Provide individual therapy at a minimum of one (1) session per week, and group counseling at a minimum of three (3) times per week. Obtain feedback from patients, staff, and other stakeholders to assist in developing procedures that will help make the project outcome an effective and efficient way to deliver integrated treatment in an inpatient psychiatric setting. The ability to assist in planning, process development, and outcome measurements is key in order to support the expansion of these practices to other inpatient mental health programs. The Counselor is responsible for assessing the level of drug and alcohol and conducting substance abuse services for residents. He/she provides counseling sessions for families, individuals and groups. The Counselor is responsible for interviewing and developing the chemical dependency assessment. The Counselor is also liaisons with outside agencies and individuals for the purpose of developing and coordinating discharge planning with the treatment team and family. Education & Qualifications Licensure by the State of Tennessee as an Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) preferred, a Master Degree will be accepted in Social Work, Chemical Health Counseling, Psychology, or other closely related field. At least two years of experience working with clients dually diagnosed with mental health and substance abuse disorders in the areas of screening, integrated assessment, treatment planning, providing treatment interventions, and discharge planning. A minimum of two years of professional experience, utilizing motivational interviewing is also required. At least one year of experience training, coaching, and mentoring other treatment team professionals and direct-care staff in acquiring these same skills. Full Time Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
