Job Description
Location:
Chesapeake, VA. Indian Creek Correctional Center is a level 2 medium security prison. This facility provides specialized treatment services to individuals with substance use disorderHours:
Monday- Friday, 7:00 am
- 4:00 pm OR 7:45 am
- 4:45 pm with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break
Pay Rate:
$25.00/hr. ($52,000 annually). Candidates with a CSAC, CADC, or equivalent certification/license are eligible for $27.88/hr. ($58,000 annually)Benefits :

Discounts on wide array of services/entertainment nationwide The Transition Specialist is responsible for: Providing group education, release planning, case management, and re-entry preparation services to the clients who have completed the Cognitive Therapeutic Community program at Indian Creek Correctional Center and are within 90 days of their release from incarceration Arranging continuing care needs for the returning citizens to prepare them to meet their various treatment, support, and living needs once they are released from incarceration Facilitates Thinking for a Change classes, attends Re-Entry Council meetings in the Tidewater area, and sponsors outside vendors to conduct workshops and seminars for the returning citizens Working closely with Virginia Department of Corrections personnel to ensure quality services and promote a healing environment where people with substance use disorders can learn to live in recovery as returning citizensQualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Services field is required State certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) in the state of Virginia or similar certification/license recognized by the Virginia Board of Professional Counselors is required within two (2) years of signing job description Case management experience is required Experience working in the substance abuse treatment field is preferred Experience working within a correctional or secure environment is a plus Experience working in Therapeutic Community model programs is a plus #VADOC086Similar jobs in Chesapeake, VA
