Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of substance abuse treatment methodologies and be committed to supporting individuals on their recovery journey. This role involves providing counseling, case management, and therapeutic interventions to clients struggling with substance use disorders. Duties Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address substance abuse issues. Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage clients in their treatment plans. Perform diagnostic evaluations to assess clients' needs and develop appropriate treatment strategies. Implement cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) approaches to help clients modify harmful behaviors. Manage case files and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collect and analyze data related to client progress and treatment outcomes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for clients. Provide support in crisis situations, offering immediate interventions as needed. Experience Candidates should have a background that includes the following skills: Proficiency in ICD-10 coding for accurate diagnosis documentation. Knowledge of applied behavior analysis techniques. Experience in mental health counseling, with a focus on substance abuse recovery. Strong case management skills to coordinate services effectively. Familiarity with data collection methods to track client progress.
