In this role, you will provide vital mental health and addiction counseling services to individuals and families, supporting their journey toward recovery and well-being. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your clinical skills in a supportive environment, making a meaningful difference in clients' lives through evidence-based practices. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care, utilizing your knowledge of psychotherapy, motivational interviewing, and crisis intervention techniques. This paid position is ideal for recent graduates or those beginning their careers in behavioral health, eager to grow professionally while helping others achieve healthier lives. Duties Conduct intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations to determine client needs and develop personalized treatment plans. Deliver individual and group counseling sessions utilizing cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA) techniques. Implement motivational interviewing strategies to foster client engagement and promote positive behavioral change. Provide child and family counseling to support familial dynamics and address developmental concerns. Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention and crisis management protocols, ensuring client safety at all times. Document all patient interactions accurately within medical records, adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality. Collaborate with healthcare providers, case managers, and community agencies to coordinate comprehensive care plans. Participate in ongoing research activities related to addiction medicine, mental health counseling, and behavioral health best practices. Utilize diagnostic coding systems such as ICD-9, ICD-10, and CPT coding for accurate medical documentation and billing purposes. Engage in data collection efforts to monitor treatment outcomes and improve service delivery across programs. Experience Certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor or equivalent credential from an accredited organization. Prior experience or internship in clinical counseling, addiction counseling, or behavioral health settings is preferred but not required; training will be provided for entry-level candidates. Knowledge of psychotherapy modalities including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), social work principles, and behavior management strategies. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and HIPAA compliance standards. Experience working with diverse populations in home & community care environments or hospital settings is a plus. Strong communication skills with the ability to assess patient needs accurately and deliver compassionate care.
