Bridging the Gaps is a small, residential treatment facility specializing in holistic and integrative drug and alcohol recovery services. We are seeking a passionate Residential Substance Abuse Counselor to join our clinical team and guide clients through early recovery and empower them to build the skills needed for lasting recovery. Our clinicians provide individualized counseling, facilitate group therapy, and collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team in a supportive, client-centered environment. With just 24 beds, Bridging the Gaps offers a close-knit setting where clients can feel brave, safe, supported, and empowered to engage in meaningful healing. Our abstinence-based philosophy supports long-term recovery by helping clients break free from all mood-altering substances, promoting personal growth, emotional healing, and sustainable sobriety. About the Role This position plays an essential role in guiding clients through early recovery by providing assessments, treatment planning, individual counseling, group facilitation, relapse prevention support, documentation, discharge planning, and coordination of care. The role also offers opportunities for ongoing training, weekly in-house clinical supervision, and meaningful collaboration with a dedicated treatment team. Key Responsibilities:

Perform client evaluations and assessment to determine clinical needs, appropriate level of care, and referrals to other programs when indicated. Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and review plans with the treatment team. Review client progress and update treatment plans according to program requirements. Conduct and document individual counseling sessions as required. Facilitate and document group counseling sessions, including psychoeducation, therapeutic process groups, and relapse prevention groups. Coordinate client treatment with the clinical team, program coordinators, and other staff as appropriate. Develop aftercare plans and discharge summaries. Present educational lectures for client groups as directed. Participate in in-service training and present on topics of expertise as requested. Provide crisis intervention support and assist with preparation for planned family or employer interventions as necessary. Complete documentation and reports in a legible, accurate, and timely manner.

Qualifications and Skills:

To perform this role successfully, candidates must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for the position. Bachelor's degree in behavioral health field, such as Psychology, Social Work, Addictions, or a related field with emphasis on counseling techniques. QMHP-A credential or eligibility to obtain it. CSAC, CADC or equivalent credentials, or active progress toward obtaining one. At least one year of experience in Addiction counseling.

Other Qualifications:

Knowledge of chemical dependency treatment, principles of self-help support groups, and available community resources. Ability to pass a fingerprint background check as deemed by DBHDS. Ability to pass a prehire and random post hire urine drug screens. Ability to communicate and consult effectively with other health professionals.
