Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking two passionate and driven Vocational Education Counselors to support individuals in recovery from Substance Use Disorders (SUD) as they build meaningful careers and achieve long term stability. In this role, you'll guide participants through career exploration, job readiness, placement and retention-helping them overcome barriers and succeed in the workforce. We are looking for one in the Plattsburgh area, and one in the Watertown area. Support Career Development Provide individual and group vocational counseling Help participants identify strengths, interests and career goals Develop personalized employment plans and conduct assessments Build Job Readiness Skills Assist with resumes, applications and interviews Teach job search strategies and workplace expectations Connect individuals to training, certifications and education opportunities Facilitate Job Placement and Retention Connect participants with employers and job opportunities Support them through hiring and onboarding Provide follow-up support to ensure long-term success Engage Employers & Community Partners Build relationships with local employers Promote recovery-friendly workplaces Collaborate with workforce systems and community organizations Skills Vocational counseling and job placement expertise Strong communication and relationship-building skills Knowledge of labor market trends and workforce systems Ability to support individuals facing complex barriers
Requirements:
Advanced
CASAC OR A
qualifying advanced credential from the list below: Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) Master's Degree (M.S. or M.Ed.) in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling Acess-VR Certified Counselor status LMSW, LCSW or LMHC Master's degree in related human services field
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
