Our mission is to equip children with the skills and hope necessary for a promising future, regardless of their foster care circumstances. Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Youth Mentor & Life Skills Coach to empower children and adolescents through mentorship, skill development, and behavioral support. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable youth by fostering positive growth, resilience, and independence within a nurturing environment. Duties Build trusting relationships with children and adolescents to serve as a positive role model and source of guidance. Develop and implement individualized life skills plans that promote independence, social competence, and emotional well-being. Facilitate engaging activities that teach essential skills such as communication, conflict resolution, self-care, and decision-making. Collaborate with families, social workers, and educational staff to support each child's unique needs and progress. Monitor behavioral patterns and provide constructive feedback to encourage positive behavior change. Assist in crisis intervention and conflict management to ensure safety and stability within the program setting. Document progress notes, assessments, and activity reports accurately to track developmental milestones. Skills Experience working with children in educational, childcare, or social service settings. Knowledge of special education principles and working with individuals with disabilities or behavioral health challenges. Strong mentoring abilities combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with child welfare systems, social work practices, and conflict management techniques. Ability to teach life skills effectively while maintaining a respectful and inclusive approach. Background in behavioral health or child development is highly desirable. Demonstrated ability to manage challenging situations with patience, empathy, and professionalism.
