As a Youth Care Specialist I, you'll be an essential part of our Emergency Shelter Services team. Your responsibilities would include maintaining safe, visual supervision of children and youth ages 0-19, upholding the structure and therapeutic environment of the program, building genuine and respectful relationships with the youth in our care, and keeping accurate documentation across each shift. Ideally, you are: A high school graduate or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred) Experienced in Human Services with at-risk children and/or residential work (strongly preferred) At least 21 years of age, with a motor vehicle record of 3 points or less and proof of active auto insurance Comfortable completing CPI (crisis intervention) training and staying alert and engaged through shifts of up to 10-12 hours A strong written and verbal communicator who can maintain confidential information appropriately Bonus Points Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, psychology, or a related field Prior experience with CPI or other crisis-intervention training Bilingual or experience working with culturally and socioeconomically diverse families
