What is the Boys & Girls Club? As "The Positive Place For Kids" we provide guidance-oriented character development programs for children 6 to 17 years old conducted by a full-time professional staff. The Boys & Girls Club of Crawford County nurtures young people's self-esteem by instilling in them a sense of belonging, usefulness, influence and competence. Core programs at the Club engage young people annually in activities with adults, peers and family members that enable them to develop self-esteem and to reach their full potential. The primary responsibility of a Youth Mentor is to ensure the safety and well-being of all youth members. The Youth Mentor delivers structured educational, social, athletic, and recreational programs for the Boys & Girls Club of Crawford County, supporting our priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, Good Character and Citizenship serving young people aged 6-17. Additionally, the Youth Mentor is committed to understanding and embodying the mission and core values of the Boys & Girls Club of Crawford County. During the school year this role will primarily work weekdays, 1:30pm - 6:30pm. Essential Job Responsibilities Prepare Youth for

Success:

Foster a positive environment that encourages growth and confidence. Promote and encourage program participation. Serve as a role model and mentor to youth members.

Program Development & Implementation:

Plan, lead, and supervise engaging activities for members. Ensure a safe and inclusive atmosphere for all participants. Monitor and evaluate programs to maintain high-quality experiences. Maintain cleanliness and organization of program spaces. What We're Looking For High School diploma or GED required. Experience working with children or youth development preferred. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide youth . Ability to plan and implement creative, quality programs. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to supervise members and create a safe, positive environment . Valid driver's license (or willingness to obtain one). Must pass a background check. Applicants must be 18 years or older.
