Massachusetts Employer Summer Preschool Program Counselor Amesbury, MA Apply 8:45am - 1:15pm or 8:45am - 3:00pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions or duties listed below are intended only as examples of the various types of work that may be performed. Supervise and actively engage with a designated group of preschool-aged children Plan and lead outdoor activities, games, and age-appropriate recreational programming Assist in developing daily schedules based on children?s ages, needs, and interests Facilitate educational and creative activities through play, exploration, and group interaction Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times; enforce safety protocols Set up, maintain, and store program equipment and materials Manage group dynamics, resolve conflicts, and address behavioral concerns in a positive manner Maintain a clean, organized, and safe program environment Verify authorized pick-up of children, including checking IDs and approved contact lists Perform additional duties as assigned byMinimum Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years old. Minimum of 1 year experience working with children (required) Demonstrated enthusiasm and passion for working with young childrenCORI/SORI
background check required First Aid and CPR certification preferredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong communication skills with both children and parents Ability to serve as a positive role model and demonstrate sound judgment Leadership and group management skills, including: 1. Maintaining accurate headcounts 2. Managing transitions and schedule changes 3. Handling conflicts calmly and constructively ? Ability to follow verbal and written instructions from supervisors ? Capable of responding effectively and calmly in emergency situations ? Dependable, trustworthy, and team-orientedWork Environment and Physical Requirements:
Outdoor setting at Amesbury Town Park (shade structure) Active role requiring engagement in physical activities and constant supervision of children Must be able to stand for several hours at a time. Must be able to handle varying levels of noise and activities. Standing, walking, bending, crouching, seeing, hearing, talking, carrying, climbing, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. is required.
