In this vital role, you will create a safe, nurturing environment where young people can access essential services, develop life skills, and work toward stability. Your proactive approach and strong communication skills will help empower youth to overcome challenges, build resilience, and achieve their goals. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable youth while fostering a positive and supportive community atmosphere. Responsibilities Provide direct support and supervision to youth residing in shelter facilities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Conduct intake assessments to determine individual needs, develop personalized care plans, and coordinate appropriate services Assist with crisis intervention, de-escalating conflicts and managing behavioral health issues with sensitivity and professionalism Support youth with daily activities such as childcare, medication administration, and behavioral management strategies Maintain accurate records through data entry, filing, data collection, and case management documentation Monitor security protocols by conducting regular facility inspections, managing access control, and ensuring a safe environment for residents and staff Collaborate with social workers, addiction counselors, healthcare providers, and community agencies to facilitate comprehensive support for youth Respond promptly to emergencies using first aid skills and follow established safety procedures to ensure everyone's safety Skills Proven supervising experience working with youth or vulnerable populations in shelter or community settings Strong crisis intervention skills with the ability to manage conflict effectively and calmly under pressure Knowledge of child development, behavioral health, addiction counseling, and behavioral management techniques Excellent communication skills for engaging with youth, families, team members, and external partners Experience with intake processes, case management, data entry, filing, and data collection methods Ability to administer medication safely following prescribed protocols Familiarity with security measures including security checks and maintaining a secure environment Home & community care experience is highly desirable for understanding diverse client needs First aid certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire This role is an excellent fit for compassionate individuals eager to support youth through challenging circumstances while developing valuable skills in social work, crisis response, and case management.
