Our Cool Fellas group serves young men ages 13-17 in a structured, peer-based social environment designed to build connection, confidence, and real-world social skills. Position Overview We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Special Education Social Group Leader or Assistant to support and facilitate our Cool Fellas program. This role requires a valid driver's license, as some program activities involve driving. Mileage driven for program activities will be reimbursed. The ideal candidate genuinely connects with neurodiverse teen boys, understands the social and emotional landscape of adolescence, and can bring structure, energy, and consistency to a group setting. Responsibilities Facilitate or assist in structured social group sessions for teen males ages 13-17 Support participants in practicing social skills, turn-taking, conversation, ACC device communication, and peer interaction Implement session outings provided by the program director Model appropriate social behavior and coach participants in real time Maintain a safe, respectful, and fun group environment Monitor group dynamics and provide positive behavioral support as needed Communicate observations and participant progress to the program lead Drive to program locations and outings as required; mileage reimbursed Requirements Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Current First Aid and CPR certification (required) Valid basic driver's license and reliable personal vehicle (required) Mileage reimbursement provided for driving associated with program activities Experience working with neurodiverse youth, particularly adolescents with autism, ADHD, or related diagnoses Strong understanding of social-emotional development in teens Calm, consistent, and positive demeanor with adolescent males Reliable, punctual, and a team player Preferred Qualifications Experience leading or co-facilitating social skills groups Familiarity with evidence-based social skills frameworks (e.g., PEERS, Social Thinking) Background in behavioral support, youth development, or community programming Experience with teen boys specifically — including ability to build rapport with this population
