Crisis Intervention Specialist Goodness Caregiver Network Jackson, MS Job Details Full-time $16 - $17 an hour 2 days ago Benefits Paid training Paid orientation Flexible schedule Referral program Qualifications Teamwork CPI Certification High school diploma or GED Working with children Social Work Child welfare Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking Crisis Intervention Prevention (CIP)-certified caregivers to provide safe, structured, and trauma-informed care to youth in state custody within the state of Mississippi. Caregivers will support youth who may have experienced abuse, neglect, behavioral challenges, or emotional distress, ensuring their safety, stability, and well-being while promoting positive development. Key Responsibilities Provide direct supervision and care to youth in state custody in accordance with Mississippi state regulations and agency policies Utilize Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) techniques to de-escalate behavioral crises safely and effectively Maintain a calm, supportive, and trauma-informed environment Assist youth with daily living activities, routines, and life-skills development Monitor behavior and emotional well-being; document incidents, progress, and concerns accurately and timely Collaborate with caseworkers, supervisors, therapists, and other professionals involved in the youth's care Follow all mandatory reporting requirements and safety protocols Model appropriate behavior and help youth develop coping, communication, and conflict-resolution skills Participate in ongoing training, staff meetings, and professional development as required Minimum Qualifications Current Crisis Intervention Prevention (CPI) certification (required) High school diploma or GED (required); college coursework in social work, psychology, or related field preferred Experience working with at-risk youth , foster care, group homes, or residential settings preferred Ability to manage high-stress situations with professionalism and emotional control Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Required Clearances Successful criminal background check Fingerprint Clearance Drug Screen Child abuse/neglect registry clearance Valid government-issued ID Auto Insurance Ability to meet Mississippi state requirements for working with youth in custody Physical & Emotional Requirements Ability to remain alert and active during shifts Ability to intervene physically when necessary using approved CIP techniques Emotional resilience and the ability to work with youth who may display challenging behaviors Preferred Skills & Attributes Trauma-informed care experience Cultural competence and empathy Strong problem-solving and de-escalation skills Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to youth advocacy Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience and certification Training and professional development opportunities Supportive team environment Equal Opportunity Employer Statement We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
