OVERVIEW
Position Summary
Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch Therapeutic Youth Mentor provides direct support, guidance, and mentoring to help youth develop coping skills, improve communication, and build positive relationships. Therapeutic Youth Mentors are role models that facilitate activities and work collaboratively with other team members to assist youth in reaching their goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support
Collaborate with teams, supervisors, educators, community partners and families to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans and supporting youth's complex needs. Demonstrate strong interpersonal and customer service skills and ability to engage a diverse group of participants.
Performance
Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently. Ability to exercise and model good judgment, teamwork, and professionalism, especially in crisis situations and creative about finding solutions for them.
Documentation
Create and conduct necessary documentation accurately and able maintain documentation expectations in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
21 years old or older. Criminal /
Child Abuse Clearance:
Must pass criminal record and child abuse registry background check as required by the State of Montana. High School Diploma or GED. Driver's License to operate passenger vehicle. Willingness and ability to obtain certification in First Aid/CPR and Violence Intervention Prevention. Knowledge of and ability to maintain professional therapeutic boundaries and confidentiality with youth and families.

Skills
Possess the ability to work with youth in multiple settings, such as individually and in groups. Ability to work in cooperation and collaboration with the treatment team. Ability to work 1:1 with youth, independent of other co-workers. Excellent active listening skills. The ability to complete forms within an electronic Medical Health Record System typing at least 35 words per minute while using a keyboard and mouse (Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 products is a plus).
