One Love Tennis is a Wilmington, NC-based nonprofit dedicated to empowering youth through the sport of tennis combined with academic enrichment, mentorship, and character development. Operating out of the historic home of Dr. Hubert Eaton at 1406 Orange Street, One Love serves underrepresented young people in the greater Wilmington community with a vision of creating lifelong athletes, scholars, and leaders.POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director of Enrichment will lead the mentoring and tutoring aspects of One Love, building the structures and relationships that ensure every young person we serve has a caring adult in their corner and the academic support they need to thrive. Equally important, the Director of Enrichment will play a key role in recruiting youth into One Love programs — connecting with families, schools, and community partners to be the face of One Love in the community.QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in education, social work, counseling, or a related field preferred Minimum 2-3 years of experience in youth mentoring, tutoring, academic coaching, or community outreach Genuine warmth and ability to connect with young people of varying ages, backgrounds, and academic levels Strong organizational and communication skills; comfortable working with parents, school staff, and community partners Experience developing or delivering educational curriculum, tutoring programs, or youth development programming Self-directed and entrepreneurial; able to build a program from the ground up with limited administrative support Deep commitment to equity, youth empowerment, and the mission of One Love TennisKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Mentoring Program Design and manage a structured mentoring program that pairs One Love youth with caring adult mentors from the Wilmington community Recruit, screen, train, and support volunteer mentors; maintain ongoing mentor relationships and accountability Create a warm, consistent program culture where young people feel seen, supported, and challenged to grow Track mentoring relationships and outcomes; communicate progress to families and organizational leadership Tutoring & Academic Support Develop and oversee a tutoring program that supports One Love youth in core academic subjects Recruit and coordinate volunteer tutors, including from local colleges, universities, and faith communities Assess student academic needs and match youth with appropriate tutoring support Collaborate with the Program Director on curriculum resources and tracking tools for academic outcomes Maintain communication with families about student progress and engagement Youth Recruitment & Outreach Serve as One Love Tennis's primary outreach presence in the Wilmington community, building relationships with schools, churches, community centers, and youth-serving organizations Develop and execute a recruitment strategy to bring new youth into One Love programs, with particular attention to underrepresented and underserved populations Represent One Love Tennis at community, school, and neighborhood events Maintain enrollment pipelines and track recruitment activity and conversion across programs Work closely with the Director of Tennis to ensure smooth onboarding of newly recruited youth into tennis and enrichment programming Applicants must submit a cover letter explaining why they are a good fit for this role, resume and answers to all application questions.Pay:
