Job Description

TITLE:
Youth Development Professional - AmeriCorps Member
PT REPORTS TO
Tech Club Unit Director/Unit Director Position Summary The Youth Development Professional - AmeriCorps Member will be placed in Schools sites and/or Boys & Girls Club sites during the school day and during out of school time, OST, at the Boys & Girls Clubs. During the school day, they will be working with students on the following: Teen Outreach Prevention with previously identified at-risk youth. During OST, they will implement the evidence based Positive Action, STEM and Power Hour programs.
KEY ROLES

Youth Development Outcomes:
A. Promote and stimulate program participation. B. Provide guidance and role modeling to members. Program Development and Implementation Effectively implement and administer programs, such as STEM, Power Hour, and Positive Action, services and activities for members. Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure safety of the members. Ensure a safe, healthy and positive environment in the Club. Supervision Monitor members at all times. Ensure a productive work environment by participating in weekly branch/site staff meetings. Maintain club appearance by following daily cleaning list.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in AmeriCorps training and events as required. Participate in Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Fe/Las Vegas training and events as required. Participate in special programs and/or events. May be required to drive club vehicles (must be over 21, have a valid NM drivers license, and a clean driving record). Maintain close, daily contact with club staff (professional and volunteer), club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/instructions, instruct and advise/counsel. Maintain contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in resolving problems. Ability to pass all required state and federal criminal background checks.
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE
1. High School diploma or GED required, additional child development coursework preferred. 2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with the general public. 3. Must be able to organize and supervise children to maintain a safe environment. 4. Must be CPR and First Aid certified or willing to become certified. 5. Must be able to stand for 4 hours at a time. 6. Must be able to read & speak English, bilingual in Spanish preferred. 7. If required to drive club vehicles, must be 21 years or older, have a valid New Mexico driver's license, and maintain a clean driving record.
