Full-Time | 8:00 AM

We partner with schools, districts, state agencies, and other organizations providing education and education related support to implement innovative, research-based solutions that promote student success. SPN fosters inclusive, high-performing learning environments where students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Position Overview SPN is seeking a Texas, bilingual (Spanish-speaking) High School Social Studies Teacher to provide engaging, standards-aligned instruction in a predominantly non-English-speaking classroom. The ideal candidate will promote historical inquiry, civic awareness, and analytical thinking while supporting students' language development. Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality instruction in social studies (e.g., U.S. History, World History, Government, Economics) aligned to Texas state standards
  • Use primary sources, discussion-based learning, and project-based instruction to engage students
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse academic and language needs
  • Integrate English language development into social studies content
  • Monitor student progress, attendance, and engagement; maintain accurate grade records
  • Communicate expectations clearly and provide timely, constructive feedback
  • Foster critical thinking, civic responsibility, and cultural awareness
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional practices and student outcomes
  • Utilize technology and student information systems (SIS) for instruction and reporting Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Valid Texas Teaching Certification (Social Studies, Grades 6-12 preferred)
  • Bilingual in Spanish (required)
  • ESL Certified or in process of obtaining certification
  • Ability to pass federal background check requirements Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in history, social studies, education, or related field
  • Experience working with English language learners
  • Experience with inquiry-based or project-based learning
  • Familiarity with technology-driven or blended learning environments Skills & Abilities
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to present complex historical and civic concepts in an accessible way
  • Classroom management and student engagement skills
  • Experience with student information systems (SIS)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds as needed
  • Ability to stand, bend, and move throughout instructional periods Compensation & Benefits Salary $79,000
Includes:
401(k) with employer match $9000 yearly Lifestyle & Wellness Stipend (to be used at your discretion for health insurance premiums and travel costs) We offer a generous paid time off package that includes 8 company holidays, two weeks of paid winter break, one week of paid spring break, two weeks of paid summer break, and 10 days of flexible vacation/sick leave
