Job Description

Category Schools - Social Worker Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact while advancing your career as a School Social Worker or Counselor on a contract basis at a vibrant elementary setting near Waukegan, IL. This opportunity runs from September 9, 2026, through December 12, 2026, offering you the chance to support and empower students, staff, and families during a pivotal time of the academic year. Your experience in school social work or counseling will be invaluable in helping students navigate both academic and personal challenges. You'll collaborate with a dedicated educational team, develop support plans, and provide direct interventions that foster a positive, inclusive school environment.
Qualifications:
Current licensure as a School Social Worker or Counselor (or eligibility to obtain before assignment start) Experience working in K-5 elementary settings preferred Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities Dedication to fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for all students Ability to build rapport quickly with children, parents, and educational staff
Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group counseling to students Assist with crisis intervention and emotional/behavioral support Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to develop intervention strategies Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and IEP/504 planning as needed Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with ethical and legal guidelines Contribute to the development of a positive school climate and culture
