Software Developer (BEAVER)-Journeyman

The Position:
AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Software Developer (BEAVER)-Journeyman to support Battlespace Modeling & Simulation. The salary range of this position is $128,999.00 -$150,000.00 and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required. The Simulation Applications and Architecture (SAA) Branch develops multiple modeling and simulation (M&S) tools in support of warfighter training; test and evaluation (T&E); data analysis; live, virtual, and constructive (LVC); research and development (R D) activities for DoD agencies and its international partners. The tools include the Global Reusable Interface Domain (GRID), the Weapons Server Common Environment (WSCE), the Simulation Control Executive (SCE), the Architecture Management Integration Environment (AMIE), Analysis and Reporting Tool (ART), and the Battlespace Environment Audio Video Event Recorder (BEAVER). The SAA Branch designs, develops, documents, and deploys these products and tools. A typical day as a Software Developer (BEAVER)-Journeyman may include:- Develops software for an advanced synthetic training environment used to assist in the debrief of pilots after a training event
- Records all audio/video feeds and simulation data for synchronized playback from events
- Supports software development, software integration, customer training and demonstrations
- Works within existing DevOps environment including automated builds, testing and deployment of software on multiple OS platforms
- Programs, evaluates and reviews using C++
- Develops software requiring parallel processing, threading and inter-process communication
- Develops software to simulate complex environments/platforms in real-time
- Collaborates with team members to design future enhancements
Must-haves:
- Bachelor's Degree in
Computer Science or Computer Engineering:
Degrees in Aerospace, Computer, Software Systems, Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering may qualify OR HS Diploma/Equivalent with 6 years of additional work experience (9 years total)- Degree obtained from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
- 3 years of relevant work experience
- Experience coding with C++
- Experience with shell scripts
- Experience working with CMake
- The ability to obtain and maintain Clearance in accordance with 5205.07
- AMEWAS willing to obtain and process full clearance-The ability to obtain and maintain a
DoD Secret Security Clearance Desired Skills:
- Familiarity with scaled agile software development tools and environments such as GIT and Jira
- Experience working in a DevOps-enabled environment using CVCD
- Experience working in a cross-platform development environment to include Windows and Linux
- Experience with modeling and simulation
- Experience with military weapons systems or military air platforms
- Experience in the military test/training communities Skills Crucial to Success at

The physical environment for this position requires the employee to work in an office, sitting in a cubicle or at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday. Work is physically comfortable. The employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc. The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site or near the work site.
