Job Description
Description Would you love to work in a highly creative space, diving into big operational supply chain problems? Are you interested in technical challenges at scale, involving a high degree of creative freedom? Amazon's Quantitative Business Intelligence Tools (QuBIT) team is seeking a highly talented and motivated Software Development Manager to lead their inbound visibility and reporting charter. A successful candidate for this role will have an established background in developing customer-facing experiences, strong technical ability, excellent project management skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast paced environment. The candidate must have the ability to collaborate closely on system requirements with our customers, writing specifications, driving project schedules from design to release, and managing the production launch. Key job responsibilities A successful candidate must be able to:
- Leading highly talented technology teams responsible for building and owning complex services from India.
- Lead the effective and efficient delivery of the large, complex projects..
- Develop and maintain a culture of innovation and operational efficiency in the team.
- Influence, collaborate and communicate effectively with various leaders in Amazon.
- Hiring, growing and retaining a strong team keeping with the Amazon high bar.
- Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.
- Maximize resources for the greater good of the organization.
- Identify, assess, track and mitigate issues and risks at multiple levels.
- Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities.
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
